Mural Manifesto

The economy is about to gain 10 billion new participants. None of them are human.

They are AI agents, working for businesses and for people. They will send invoices, pay suppliers, manage savings and send money home. Every business, and every person, will become a fintech.

Every time an agent moves money, it makes a promise on someone’s behalf. Billions of agents will make billions of promises. If no one knows who made them, they will be broken.

Every payment is a promise.

Rent. Payroll. A salary. Money sent home to family. Every payment is a promise to somebody.

The broken supply chain of money.

A payment today passes through a chain of hands: a bank, a payments provider, a compliance vendor, a wallet. None of them holds the whole record.

An engineer in Buenos Aires is paid in pesos that buy a little less every month. A vendor in Mexico City keeps the week’s cash in a drawer, while the money her brother sends from Houston loses a piece at every link in the chain.

Where you are born still decides what your money is worth. Agents built on this chain will inherit every broken link.

The account at the center.

At the center of Mural is the account. It stores and moves money for a business or a person, and knows who owns it, which agents may act for them, and under which rules. Compliance is built in, not bolted on.

Around it sits every network money moves on: bank rails like ACH, SPEI, PIX and SEPA, stablecoins like USDC and USDT, the banks that hold dollars, and the wallets people actually use. Money comes in on one network and leaves on another, and the account keeps the record. That is where the promise is kept.

You build the product. We carry the complexity.

Why we started Mural.

I, Sinclair, spent time growing up in the US, France, and Togo where my family is from. That is where I learned what a dollar is worth. Money in the local currency bought a little less every season. A dollar held its value. Access to the dollar was access to opportunity.

I, Chris, worked with Sinclair at Palantir, connecting systems that were never built to talk to each other. Payments are the same problem in disguise. We taught data to move. Money never learned.

In short, our plan is.

1. Build the account for the fintechs and platforms moving money across borders.

2. Use that to connect every network, from bank rails and stablecoins to banks and wallets, through one account.

3. Use that to give every business and every person an account their agents can act on.

4. While doing all of this, publish how well we keep our promises.

Why Mural.

The oldest stories people have told are on walls, from the caves of southern France to the public buildings of Mexico City.

The murals that last are not hung on a wall. They are painted into it, until the pigment becomes part of the wall itself. They are built slowly, by many hands, and they outlast the people who made them.

That is what we are building: the wall the next generation of businesses will be painted into. Every business and every person, connected to the Global Financial Internet, adding their part of the story.

We lay the foundation. Our customers paint their story into it.
